Whilst previously confirmed for release in Europe and Japan, Nintendo of America have today announced that they are to release the Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition across North America in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Super Mario Bros. series.
Set to release on December 12th for $29.99, the Limited Edition will include four classic Mario titles – Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Mario Bros. 3 – that are all playable on Wii, alongside a soundtrack CD and an illustrated commemorative booklet.
The Super Mario History soundtrack CD will feature a compilation of memorable music from the franchise, consisting of classic theme songs and fun sound effects from across the original Super Mario Bros. right up to his latest outing, Super Mario Galaxy 2. The disc also marks the first official release of the "Super Mario Bros. Ground Theme," widely recognized as one of the most famous pieces of video game music in history.
Finally, the 32-page Super Mario History booklet features a wealth of information regarding the franchise including interviews, behind-the-scenes details and rare concept art.
