Luigi's Mansion 2 shifting to Wii U?

Luigi's Mansion 2 shifting to Wii U?Luigi’s Mansion 2 could be heading to Wii U, according to a listing uncovered at an online retailer.

A listing for a Wii U version of the game turned up at UK retailer Play.com over the weekend, although no further details, like a release date, are given.

Nintendo announced Luigi’s Mansion 2 for Nintendo 3DS during its E3 press conference last June. Since then, however, the game has been kept in hiding.

With software sales on Nintendo’s 3DS still failing to hit targets, a shift onto Wii U could make sense for the series.

The original game launched alongside the GameCube back in 2001. It was reportedly the fifth best-selling game on the console.

Wii U is due for release later this year, with launch line-up plans expected to be revealed at next month’s E3.

Luigi’s Mansion 2 is due to go on sale during 2012.

Whilst a release for Wii U could be possible, and would surely be great, I would be surprised if it was cancelled for 3DS having already played it at a preview event last year. It was fantastic, the controls were spot on and visuals and 3D effect very impressive. I would be disappointed if it is cancelled after that!
