Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata has said Nintendo has no plans to announce a successor to the Nintendo Wii any time soon.
Speaking with Yomuiuri.co.jp, the reason given is that sales of the Wii are still strong, still over seven million units a year in North America according to Iwata.
Reggie Fils-Aime told gamers that Nintendo would talk about a Wii successor when the Nintendo Wii has an install base of 50 million in the states.
Satoru Iwata is set to present a keynote presentation at GDC this week. Can we expect any announcements? Keep an eye on GamerZines for news as it happens.
