Shadows of the Damned’s sound director Akira Yamaoki has spilled the beans on a future project currently in the works at Grasshopper Manufacture, revealing that the new game "doesn’t really involve HD" and that the company "is trying out many things".
"Going to HD consoles happened rather naturally," replied Yamaoki when we asked him why Shadows of the Damned ended up on Xbox 360/PS3, rather than on Wii, where the developer’s console efforts have been focussed for the past few years.
"I can’t disclose what it is right now," he continued, "but we are working on something completely different at this moment which doesn’t really involve HD.
"As a company, we’re trying out many things. It’s not a major shift to focus on HD."
Sounds interesting, but what platform could the new game be for?
Grasshopper, of course, has previously developed the No More Heroes series on Wii, and also has Kinect horror game Codename D in the works. The studio developed both Contact and Flower, Sun, and Rain for DS as well.
Could the developer have a 3DS project on the go, or something for NGP? Look to E3 in June for a potential reveal.
Shadows of the Damned launches in June on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
