Nintendo of America has announced that they’ve made to shift over 12 million Wii Balance Boards since launching them in 2008.
The Balance Board was bundled with Wii Fit and available as a bundle with Wii Fit Plus which has gone on to be one of the big successes of the system.
With 30.4 million Wii systems sold in the US, over a third of those gamers are in possession of the Balance Board peripheral.
These 12 million sales do not reflect the overall sales of both Wii Fit or Wii Fit Plus.
Nintendo has shown mixed support for the peripheral with just Rock N’ Roll Climber and Wii Music being the only first party offerings outside of fitness titles.
