The highly anticipated sequel to LostWinds arrives this month and it promises to be just as enjoyable as the original released last year. Toku the young protagonist returns with his friend and protector Enril the wind spirit in a new engaging adventure. Only this time he has to brave the winter elements to accomplish his quest, which is to save his mother from an evil curse and help the frozen people of Mistralis. Oh and to stop the evil spirit Balasar from his plans of world domination, its all in a days work for young Toku though.
The developers Frontier have taken on-board the main criticism aimed at the original which was to do with the length of the game, with many players completing it in a few hours. This time however there will be more challenges and monsters for you to encounter along Toku's journey which should increase the time it takes for you to beat the game.
Plus the sequel sees several new feature included, with the main one being the ability to change the season between winter and summer. This will effect the environment around you, for example melting frozen obstacles in your path and uncovering solutions for you to make it pass tricky terrain. It will also help in unlocking discovery hidden secrets, plus you can use it to attack your enemies with snow balls. Another new ability is the cyclone power, which will allow you smash enemies, drill through rock and transport Toku to new areas.
