Rockstar Games has announced that the PSP port of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will be released on October 20th.
The publisher revealed the date through a tweet on its official Twitter page, confirming that the game would be available to purchase on either UMD or as a digital download via PlayStation Network.
Rockstar failed to mention which territory the date was relevant to, though given that it's a Tuesday, the date is likely only to apply to North America. Unless Rockstar is planning a simultaneous worldwide release, expect Chinatown Wars to hit these shores a few days later.

The game follows the dubious adventures of Huang Lee, a Triad who travels to Liberty City after the death of his father.
But despite it's critical success, Chinatown Wars didn't perform well at retail, a fact many attribute to Rockstar's decision to port the game to PSP as an attempt to recuperate their costs.
The PSP version has been 'specifically built' for Sony's handheld, claims Rockstar, and sports enhanced visuals and brand new story mission. But given the original game's extensive (and often genius) use of the DS's touchscreen, colour us intrigued to see how they get around the PSP's lack of such an interface.
Rockstar will be revealing the first screens "and more" soon.
