Sony has confirmed that portable powerhouse the PlayStation Vita will not launch in Europe and the US until early 2012.
Associated Press reports that Sony Executive Vice President Kazuo Hirai has stated that PlayStation Vita will launch in Japan by the end of the year whilst other markets including Europe and the US won’t see the portable hit shelves next year.
A Christmas release in Japan was not confirmed.
The PlayStation Vita, formerly dubbed NGP, was revealed in January of this year and further details on the system were given at E3 held in June.
