NeoGeo Portable Announced

Published on January 25th, 2012

Japanese video game developer/hardware manufacturer SNK Playmore are in the process of bringing another handheld console to market.

The ‘Neo-Geo Portable’ features a 4.3 inch screen, 2GB of storage and twenty built-in titles from SNK’s back catalogue, listed below:

- World Heroes
- Ultimate 11
- Top Player’s Golf
- Sengoku
- NAM-1975
- Mutation Nation
- Last Resort
- King of Monsters
- Frenzy
- Cyber Lip
- Fatal Fury Special
- Art of Fighting
- Super Sidekicks
- League Bowling
- Metal Slug
- Magical Lord
- Baseball Stars Professional
- Samurai Shodown
- King of Fighters ’94
- Fatal Fury

Andriasang has the scoop on the finer details regarding this new hardware, as well as pictures, but unfortunately a release date and a price has yet to be confirmed.

The Neo-Geo was a major force in the 16-bit era and it would be great for the name to appear on stove shelves once again, especially in handheld form. We have our fingers crossed for news of a Western release soon…
