Sales of Sony’s PSP have sky rocketed since the launch of Monster Hunter Portable 3rd earlier this month.
Selling over 2 million copies in its first week of availability, sales of PSP systems also doubled from those the week prior to Monster Hunter Portable 3rd’s launch selling 75,689 units.
Capcom teamed up with Sony to offer a unique PSP bundle for the game’s launch which featured a revised PSP system with an improved analogue stick and a longer battery life.
Enterbrain is reporting these figures as setting new software and hardware records for the system.
Capcom is yet to announce release dates for Monster Hunter Portable 3rd outside of Japan.
