Though Fight Night Round 4's analogue-only control setup may set alarm bells ringing, after only a few hours play EA's decision for such a system seems entirely justified. Round 4's Total Control System is utterly intuitive with on-screen jabs, hooks and uppercuts fluidly mimicking your inputs.

In truth, the game's core single-player option 'Legacy Mode' is disappointing, acting as a typical career mode that follows your fighter through the ranks from rookie to champ and, as with any fighter, there is much more fun to be found in the game's multiplayer modes.
Fight Night Round 4 is certainly no button masher, but is nonetheless a game that will hold as much appeal to gamers looking for a quick post-pub bout as those after a deep boxing simulation.
