Red Dead Redemption will release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in April 2010, according to a newsletter issued by Rockstar today.

P3Zine Issue 24 For our latest Red Dead Redemption coverage, click here to download P3Zine Issue 24 for free.The Wild West open world shooter had previously only been given a 'fiscal 2010' release window following its delay earlier in the year.

To coincide with the announcement, Rockstar also revealed that a new trailer for the game, titled "My Name is John Marston", will release next Tuesday December 1st.

Red Dead Redemption is the follow up to 2004's Red Dead Revolver currently in development at Rockstar San Diego, which sees former outlaw John Marston trek across the old west and take the law into his own hands.
