Sony announce 'PlayStation Beta' project for the UK

Having teased that "Huge, huge, huge" news was due to be announced on the European PlayStation Community forums that would interest gamers across the United Kingdom, MusterBuster, Community Team Leader, has revealed its details.

PlayStation Beta
Sony have unveiled their latest project available to residents of the United Kingdom, entitled 'PlayStation Beta.'

To be held on Friday 30th July until Sunday 2nd August, Sony are set to cater an event at the Vaad Gallery of Birmingham's Custard Factory in what they describe as being a gamer's paradise.

"Calling all PlayStation faithfuls, we're inviting you to come and prove yourself on games before they're released, battle it out with the best of the best, win prizes, and speak face to face with your gaming heroes," writes SCE UK. "While other people can only talk about future games, you can be launching yourself into them for real at our first ever PlayStation BETA event in Birmingham."

The selection of games on offer is nothing to be sniffed at either, with the full line-up being as follows:

* The Fight Move Edition,

* Kung Fu Rider,

* Sports Champions,

* Killzone 3 Dualshock,

* Motorstorm Apocalypse,

* Gran Turismo 5,

* Dead Nation,

* Eat Them,

* Heavy Rain Move Edition.

Alongside this they'll be hosting a Motorstorm Apocalypse competiton with a Sony 3Dtv as its prize, with limited edition items to be given to all participants. Free food and drink will also be provided to feed your gaming lust.

Applicants should email betarooms@scee.net before Monday 26th July with a preferred date, and please remember that is open only to UK residents.

Sessions available are as follows:

Saturday 31st July: 6pm- 10pm

Sunday 1st August: 12pm- 4pm

Places will be offered purely on a first-come, first served basis so get your emails in early!
