Remember Treyarch banging on about how Modern Warfare's multiplayer was so good that it influenced World at War? Well, Infinity Ward won't be returning the favour.

"We're not taking any pages out of World at War's book," said Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling in an interview with GamerZines.

"We're crafting a special and unique experience for Modern Warfare 2 players that I don't want to spoil too much."

But will Infinity Ward outdo Treyarch's 65 rank cap? That's something Bowling isn't yet prepared to talk about.

The animosity between the two studios is no secret. Last year Bowling called out for the media to stop interviewing World at War's Senior Producer Noah Heller, asking them instead to talk to someone who "knows what the f**ck they're talking about", before calling him a "Senior Super Douche".

"You didn't work on previous Call of Dutys," Bowling said publicly to Heller, "so don't talk as if you're down with how / why things were designed the way they were. Second, you're completely f*****g wrong."

Ouch.

Modern Warfare 2 launches worldwide on November 10th on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. It'll probably be better than Call of Duty: World at War.
