copies in its first week, Sony is busy ordering more stock to replenish dwindling supplies at stores in North America and Europe.
The success of Heavy Rain, which has been greeted largely by positive reviews, has caught Sony off-balance, but new stock should arrive at some point next week.
In the two major video game markets, Heavy Rain sold 100,000 copies in the U.K.and 200,000 units in North America. Sony is, obviously, overjoyed with its success thus far.

"Whilst it isn't out of stock we are aware that supplies are running low. There is still supply in the chain, but I'm afraid if you're hunting for a copy it may require a little extra footwork. There will be more stock arriving next week.
"In the meantime we thank everyone for their excitement and their support for this title and also for their patience if they are still seeking a copy."
With an average review score of 88% on review aggregation site Metacritic, Heavy Rain has been described as a rare experience with some "incredible ideas and concepts."
