The exec then went on to claim that "single player experiences are no longer the future" and that "there are very interesting times ahead", before singling out PES as a "struggling" franchise and revealing that he felt 2009 was "a FIFA and Call of Duty year".
Ramsdale's comments mirror EA's newfound philosophy in turning out quality games, as exampled by this year's Need For Speed which - as the VP was quick to point out- has been the franchise's highest rated title in years.
And with games like Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Mass Effect 2, Left 4 Dead 2 and Dante's Inferno all hitting store shelves over the course of the next few months, that quality looks set to continue for a while yet.
