Visceral Games' Jonathan Knight has revealed that the studio has "no plans" to develop a sequel to Dante's Inferno, but that the developer is currently working on expansions for the game, including a "prequel campaign".
Talking to Industry Gamers, Dante's Inferno's Senior Producer said:
"I've read the entire divine comedy and I've given (a sequel) some thought, but there are no plans.

But Knight's revelation comes as a shock to us. We've just finished the game, which quite clearly ends with a lovely 'To Be Continued' notice..
So who's telling porkies? Well, considering the game's positioned as the first of three parts of The Divine Comedy, we think it's highly unlikely that this will be all we see of Dante.
Dante's Inferno launches this Friday on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. A PSP version is set to follow later in the month.
