Dave Cox, producer on the upcoming Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow, has tweeted that the PS3 is the lead platform for development, a rare example of a team choosing to drive forward with Sony's machine.

"PS3 is the lead platform but the game is identical on both formats," he said via the social networking site. It's one of the few examples of this happening on a multiplatform title, with the last high profile example being Burnout Paradise from Criterion and EA.

You cannot control it" and that "nerves" held back developer Mercury Steam from attaching the Castlevania name to the game when it debuted at Leipzig Games Convention 2008.

Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow promises a heady combination of God Of War style action mixed with traditional 'vania exploration , and features a stellar voice card including Jason Isaacs and Robert Carlyle. It's due for release later this year.
