'Big' LittleBigPlanet announcement coming today

Even "bigger" than the announcement of LBP GOTY, says SCEA. Big things expected from GamesCom.

SCEA has revealed that a 'big' LittleBigPlanet announcement is coming later today.

Responding to a question asked by a user on the US PlayStation Blog over whether the LittleBigPlanet GOTY reveal was the 'big August 18th announcement', SCEA Marketing Manager Mark Valledor replied, "Don't worry?wait until tomorrow for "bigger" announcement."

A lot of things could be bigger news than LittleBigPlanet GOTY, of course, but what exactly is Mark referring too? New LittleBigPlanet DLC? LittleBigPlanet 2? Presumably, all will be revealed at Sony's GamesCom press conference tonight.

They can't all be working on DLC, can they?

But even if the sequel may still be some way off, you can always pick up LittleBigPlanet: Game of the Year which SCEA officially revealed last night.

The GOTY edition includes bonus content from seven different DLC packs including the Metal Gear Solid level pack and costumes, plus bonus levels created specifically for the GOTY by 18 community designers hand-picked by MediaMolecule.

A 'limited supply' of the game will also ship with a voucher code for the upcoming ModNation Racers Online Beta, allowing you to try out the game before it releases next year. ModNation Racers, in case you didn't know, is effectively LittleBigPlanet Kart. It looks awesome.

LBP GOTY ships in the US on September 8th, though a European date has yet to be announced. LittleBigPlanet PSP, which is currently in the works at Studio Cambridge, launches in November.
