Centring around the story of the fal'Cie, a race of beings created from crystals inside them, Final Fantasy XIII follows the futuristic tale of former Cocoon soldier Lightning, and Snow, the head of resistance group Team Nora.
The tried and tested turn-based combat that Final Fantasy fans are used to returns, replacing the Active Dimension Battle system implemented into FFXII. Players will still be able to summon creatures, though the ability to do so is being restricted to a particular character group known as the l'Cie.
