Rather than scrawl the internet for news why not enjoy our wrap-up of all the weekend’s biggest announcements? And oh boy were there announcements.
Geek fest Comic-Con hit San Diego this weekend and brought with it a number of big reveals.
SEGA’s blue mascot Sonic took the headlines twice this weekend, first for the news that his Dreamcast sequel Sonic Adventure 2 was finally confirmed for Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.
We’ve been talking about a HD port of Sonic Adventure 2 for months but judging from the overwhelming response from the Sonic Boom event, it was a big surprise to many.
He’ll also be dragging upcoming Disney star Wreck-It Ralph into his latest racer, Sonic & All-Star Racing Transformed which launches on November 16th.
Activision also broke the news that it will be putting Transformers developer High Moon Studios to work on a game based on quirky comic book character Deadpool.
No word on a platform or date yet but the trailer has already got us quoting his snappy one-liners round the office.
Sony also picked Comic-Con as an opportunity to announce two new fighters for
upcoming brawler PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. InFamous’s Cole MacGrath and Naughty Dog duo Jak & Daxter will join the fray. Hit the jump to see them both in action.
But the weekend’s biggest news didn’t necessarily come from any Comic-Con panel but instead EA’s own Origin store. The online service accidentally advertised a pre-order bonus for Medal of Honor: Warfighter that confirmed the existence of Battlefield 4 and a subsequent multiplayer beta.
DICE and EA have since been keeping quiet on the leak.
Finally, Epic Games has set a date for Gears of War Judgement. March 19th will be the day to have your lancers ready for People Can Fly’s COG spin-off.
Microsoft also revealed a Limited Edition Halo 4 Xbox 360 launching alongside the game this November.
