Ultra Street Fighter 4 Announced

Does Hugo remind anyone else of André the Giant?

Capcom has announced that a new version of Street Fighter IV, predictably titled , will be released for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 next year.

The re-balanced beat-em-up features five new characters named Hugo, Poison, Elena and Rolento lifted from Street Fighter X Tekken, with another fighter yet to be revealed.

Six new stages also feature and they also happen to be lifted from Street Fighter X Tekken. They are Pitstop 109, Mad Gear Hideout, Cosmic Elevator, Blast Furnace, Half Pipe and Jurassic Era Research Facility.

Capcom are offering players the choice of snapping up this extra content as a $20 DLC pack for Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, or as a full retail edition for $40, which happens to include all the previously released costume DLC for no extra cost.

We have memories of former Capcom community manager Seth Killian announcing that Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition was going to be the latest iteration of the fighting series fourth sequel, but it appears that’s no longer the case.

Hugo IS based off Andre the Giant. He was introduced in Final Fight as ‘Anderres’, clearly a reference to Andre the Giant.

In Street Fighter 3 if the match was between Hugo and Alex, they’d re-enact the showdown between Andre the Giant and Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania 3 at the beginning of the match.
