Darker, maturer take on the galaxy promises from LucasArts.
LucasArts has announced Star Wars 1313, a third person action adventure set in a darker and more mature world of Coruscant.
Dubbed “the most dangerous place in the galaxy”, Star Wars 1313 will see players assume the role of a bounty hunter as he takes on jobs in the murky depths of Level 1313, the criminal underground of Coruscant.
Stepping away from the Force Unleashed series, which emphasised using the force as a weapon, 1313 will see players rely on “human skills and gadgets” instead.
Development is being handled by LucasArts with various jobs being outsourced to the company’s Light & Magic, Lucasfilm Animation, and Skywalker Sound studios.
The game will use the Unreal Engine and will boast full body performance as well as “high end” Hollywood visual effects.
“Star Wars 1313 dives into a part of the Star Wars mythos that we’ve always known existed, but never had a chance to visit,” said LucasArts president Paul Meegan.
“We are committed to bringing the best gameplay experience and visual fidelity to life and I truly believe the work we are showcasing at E3 will speak for itself.”
No platforms have been confirmed at this time.
