PC players get Steam support, console players get PC DLC. Everyone’s happy.
The PC version of the notoriously difficult Dark Souls will be released on Steam after 23,000 fans signed a petition to bring the game to Valve’s platform.
When the Prepare to Die edition of Dark Souls was announced in April, publisher Namco Bandai confirmed the game would launch at retail and Games for Windows but due to massive demand, the game will now launch on Steam on August 24th.
It has also been confirmed that the addition content appearing in the PC version will be made available in the console version.
The downloadable expansion titled ‘Artorias of the Abyss’ will feature a new location, bosses, enemies, NPC faces, and extra weapons and armour.
The content will be available for both Xbox 360 and PS3 Dark Souls players for 1,200 MS points and $14.99 respectively.
