Frodo and his hobbit friends next in line for the plastic brick treatment.
TT Games has finally announced that its next game in the popular LEGO series will be LEGO Lord of the Rings, a brick-by-brick build of J.R.R. Tolkien’s fantasy saga.
For months the game had been outed by retailer ShopTo but the game has been officially confirmed for an autumn release.
The entire trilogy – The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King – will appear in the game taking players through Frodo Baggins and the gang’s journey through Middle-earth to the boiling lavas of Mount Doom.
“We are huge aficionados of The Lord of the Rings franchise and are incredibly excited to put our special LEGO family-friendly touch on this classic fantasy adventure,” said TT Games managing director Tom Stone.
“We’ve taken what fans are familiar with and love about The Lord of the Rings films and combined it with the playful LEGO style, which makes the story and gameplay accessible to gamers of all ages.
LEGO Lords of the Rings will launch on every console under the sun including Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo 3DS, and Nintendo Wii.
