Top-tier games and Vita integration to be added to service.
Sony is preparing to announce an overhaul of its PlayStation Plus service that will include Vita integration at its E3 presser on June 4th, according to various reports.
Sources claim that the optional service will play a big part in Sony’s conference as the company hopes to gain more subscribers to the service it launched two years ago.
It plans to do this by offering ‘top-tier games’ for free and extend its support to the PlayStation Vita by adding exclusive titles and DLC as well as cloud services to support the handheld.
Currently PlayStation Plus, which costs £39.99 for a one-year subscription, provides subscribers with exclusive discounts, free games, avatars, themes, early access, as well as cloud services to back up saves and other content.
Sony is remaining tight-lipped on its upcoming E3 announcements however, PlayStation Plus content manager Ross McGrath recently suggested that now was the time to get involved with the service.
“By the way, if you don’t have a PS+ subscription, now is the time to get one. For real. Just get 3 months if you aren’t sure. Trust me,” said McGrath in a tweet.
Sony’s E3 press conference will take place on Monday June 4th at 2AM BST.
