The PlayStation Vita’s price tag will be snipped by €50 for a limited time but only in France.
Sony will be offering rebates on any Vita’s purchased between June 1st and July 15th.
Currently, the Vita is available in both Wifi and Wifi+3G flavours both retailing in Europe for €249.99 and €299.99 respectively.
With only 1.8 million devices sold since launching in December in Japan and in North America and Europe in February, Sony hopes the move will drive sales of the Vita during the summer period.
“With this offer we want to make it more accessible to the greatest number throughout the approaching summer vacation,” said SCE Europe VP Philippe Cardon.
Those hoping the price cut will extending to other European territories shouldn’t get their hopes up. When questioned, Sony said it has no plans to bring the limited time price cut elsewhere.
