New system is lighter and smaller than current Slim.
As we hinted at earlier this week, Sony has announced a new PlayStation 3 slim due to hit retail at the end of this month.
The new model is 20 percent smaller and 25 percent lighter than the current PS3 Slim which will be phased out at retail in the next few months.
Two SKUs of the PS3 Slim will be released this year.
The first is a 500GB model hitting UK shelves on September 28th with a second 12gb PS3 launching on October 12th.
Both versions are expected to retail at £250 and £185 respectively although Sony has stated that the price will be set by retailers.

Looks no different from the old PS3. I’m not sure if anyone should spend another couple hundred dollars for the same old PlayStation 3 with a different design. So lame.
