From today PlayStation 3 owners will be able to enrol in the Starhawk open beta for free.
Previously wannabe players have needed to like the game via Facebook, visit the official Sony EU blog and jump through other convoluted hoops, but now you don’t need to do any of that.
Instead all you have to do is head to the PlayStation Network store, search for Starhawk, download the 1301mb client and you’re set to join in the competitive multiplayer fun.
This open beta won’t be open forever so if you want to get involved you’ll need to act quick.
Warhawk is still one of our favourite multiplayer experiences of the current generation and Starhawk thrusts the vehicular combat action into the far future with space-craft, mechs and other sci-fi conventions.
We’ll let you know what we think of the highly anticipated sequel’s multiplayer portion over the coming days.
