We still can’t quite believe that an RPG based in the South Park universe is being developed, let alone one with a script penned by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, but today the first official screens for the Obsidian-developed project have been released.

South Park: The Game is being published by THQ and according to the announcement press release it will be “an epic role-playing adventure that will allow the user to befriend Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny and explore the quiet little mountain town like never before.”
Very intriguing and seeing as the makers of Knights of the Old Republic II and Fallout: New Vegas are behind the game, the mechanics at least will be top notch.
So far a release date hasn’t been confirmed but it’s that believed South Park: The Game will appear on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC during the second half of 2012.
We can hardly wait!
