A Sony DADC warehouse located in Enfield, London, has suffered fire damage and lootings following on-going riots in the area.
Sony has confirmed the 20,000 square metre building was used as storage space for DVDs, CDs, and “other content product” says business site Reuters.
“There will likely be some impact on deliveries,” said Yoko Yasukochi, a spokeswoman for Sony Japan.
“We cannot determine the cause of the fire or the extent of the damage yet because it’s not possible to enter the building,” she said. No injuries have been reported from the fire, she added.
There’s no official word from Sony at this time on whether this will affect any
PlayStation activity.
Rioting in London began on Saturday night in Tottenham and has since moved to other areas of the city inciting mass looting and buildings and vehicles to be set on fire.
Other major cities across the UK including Leeds, Liverpool, Birmingham have reported similar activity.
