Sony has confirmed that they have no timeframe for when the PlayStation Network will be back online.
Speaking late last night, Sony’s communications chief Patrick Seybold explained the following in an official statement, reported by CVG:
"I know you are waiting for additional information on when PlayStation Network and Qriocity services will be online. Unfortunately, I don’t have an update or timeframe to share at this point in time."
"As we previously noted, this is a time intensive process and we’re working to get them back online quickly. We’ll keep you updated with information as it becomes available. We once again thank you for your patience," he added.
The PlayStation network first went down late last week and since then gamers haven’t be able to play games online, communicate with friends or access the store.
Rumours are currently circulating that the lengthy outage is linked with a security breach last Thursday, but Sony hasn’t commented on these allegations.
We’ll keep you updated on the status of Sony’s PSN whenever new developments emerge.
