A demo of Sonic Generations is available to download from Xbox Live Marketplace and the UK PlayStation Store now.
The demo, which weighs in at just over 650MB, allows players to try out the first act of the game’s Green Hill Zone as original, ‘fat’ Sonic.
If you’ve got a 3DTV, the demo also lets you test the game out in stereoscopic 3D.
And if you want to try it out, you’d better hurry – according to reports the demo is due to be pulled from both networks on July 12th.

Today’s release of the Sonic Generation demo is to celebrate Sonic’s 20th anniversary. The original Sonic the Hedgehog launched on SEGA’s Mega Drive on June 23rd 1991.
Sonic Generations, which hosts a collection of classic Sonic levels remade with current-gen tech, is due to launch on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and 3DS this November.
