In an official statement to Kotaku, Sony Computer Entertainment America has confirmed that the official website for Resistance has been hacked.
Myresistence.net was taken down over the weekend, but not before certain visitors to the site complained of malware being sent to their PC.
“SCEA discovered unexpected activity on its Resistance website, MyResistance.net, which includes the Resistance forums and the online free strategy game, Global Resistance. As a result, the website was taken down,” read an official statement.
“MyResistance.net does not collect any credit card information, and we are working to get the site back up as soon as possible.”
This is the second game-related incursion in less than ten days with Valve’s Steam forums also falling pray to unauthorised activity.
It is expected that the official website for Resistance will be down for the foreseeable future…
