Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One has become the latest title to adopt an online pass system, with the game locking out online co-op to second-hand buyers.
According to the blurb on the copy of the game GamerZines received this morning, the Network Pass included with new copies will let players “team up with (their) friends online in 4-player co-op madness”.
Without the pass, players will only be able to play the game’s co-op locally.
Co-op, of course, is a pretty central mechanic of Insomniac’s latest Ratchet & Clank, which switches out the franchise’s traditional third-person platform-shooting to focus on a co-op based, LEGO Star Wars-like multiplayer adventure.
If you do decide to pick up the game second-hand you’ll still be able to purchase a Network Pass from PSN granting you access to online co-op, but it’ll cost you extra.
Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One launches tomorrow exclusively on PlayStation 3. A demo is also due on PlayStation Network soon.
