Evolution Studios has told GamerZines that upcoming Vita/PSN racer MotorStorm RC will not feature online multiplayer or support for cross-play.
Instead, the PSN version of the game will feature 4-player local split-screen play, as well as include support for SimulView, the technology found in Sony’s upcoming PlayStation TV that delivers a full screen view to each player during multiplayer modes.
The Vita version, meanwhile, won’t include any multiplayer options beyond the standard leaderboards.
MotorStorm RC was announced by SCEE last night. The game is a top-down isometric racer that has players racing remote controlled cars around environments found in previous MotorStorm titles.
We had a go on it last night, and while it certainly doesn’t seem to be pushing the Vita’s graphical capabilities, the simplicity of the Micro Machines-inspired racer felt a perfect fit for the handheld.
MotorStorm RC releases early next year on Vita and PSN.
