Modern Warfare 3′s DLC will extend beyond just multiplayer maps, Activision has confirmed, revealing that additional Spec Ops missions and new multiplayer game modes will also be included in future MW3 DLC.
“In the past, we’ve offered downloadable playable content packs four times a year,” said Hirshberg speaking at Call of Duty XP.
“For Call of Duty Elite members, we’re going to break that up, we’re going to give you monthly content drops. The DLC will now be delivered monthly and you’ll never be more than a few weeks away from your next experience.
“Our players have asked for more than just maps and we’re delivering on that with a great mix of multiplayer maps, Spec Ops missions, new game modes and more. “
Hirshberg valued all of Modern Warfare 3′s additional content at $60, although all of the content will be provided at no additional cost to premium Call of Duty: Elite members.
A new game mode for Modern Warfare 3′s multiplayer was revealed earlier today. Included on-disc, Kill Confirmed has players collecting the dog tags of downed enemies to confirm their kill and reach the score limit. The mode is similar to Halo Reach’s Headhunter, with points earned each time a player kills an opponent and collects their dropped dog tags.
Modern Warfare 3 launches on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii and PC on November 8th.
