SEGA has announced that Alex Kidd in Miracle World as well as four other classics from their back catalogue will be released on Nintendo’s Virtual Console and Sony’s PlayStation Network.
The list in full is as follows:
Monster World IV (Genesis/Mega Drive)
Wonder Boy in Monster Land (Arcade)
Revenge of Shinobi (Genesis/Mega Drive)
Alex Kidd in Miracle World (Master System)
Wonder Boy in Monster World (Genesis/Mega Drive)
The standout title in this list is Monster World IV, which will be fully localised for a European release for the first time, having only previously appeared in Japan.
With Sonic and Crazy Taxi sequels out of the way, it’s good to see that SEGA are finally focusing on the lesser known classics of the 16 and 32-bit eras.
All of these games are scheduled to be released between late 2011 and 2012.
