Konami has altered the contents included in the Ultimate Edition of its upcoming Metal Gear Solid HD Collection.
The Ultimate Edition, which is a world exclusive to UK retailer Zavvi, was originally listed as featuring a copy of Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, Metal Gear Solid 4, Metal Gear Solid 1 (via PSN download), and five PSN art cards.
In addition, it was to be packaged in an exclusive Steelbook, with each copy individually numbered.
However, the item was mysteriously removed from Zavvi’s website last week.
Tonight though, Zavvi has updated pre-order customers on the whereabouts of their order, revealing that the Ultimate Edition now won’t include the once-promised Metal Gear Solid 1 or 4, or the art cards.
Instead, it will feature an exclusive Metal Gear Solid t-shirt and a 250-page art book ‘Metal Gear Solid: The Art of the HD Collection’, featuring the artwork of Yoshi Shinkawa.
A Platinum version of Metal Gear Solid 4 will also be supplied to existing pre-order customers as a gesture of goodwill.
Zavvi hopes that customers will be “really happy with the contents” of the Ultimate Edition, but that anyone with any queries about their order may contact them through their message centre.
Zavvi originally announced that only 4000 copies of the Ultimate Edition would be available. The edition has already sold out.
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection launches on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on February 3rd.
