LA Noire Appeals To Women

Published on May 20th, 2011

Team Bondi founder Brendan McNamara has said that L.A. Noire has proven to be "very appealing to women", mainly – he thinks – due to them being "pretty good at reading whether people are lying or not".

"We think it appeals to a really broad church," said McNamara talking to GameSpot, "and one of the phenomenons we’ve seen a lot when we watch people play the game is that they’ll play it, or their wife or their girlfriend will play it, and two or three people will play it together like they’re watching TV.

"Three people can be entertained playing the same game and that’s a bit of a phenomenon."

But if you’re female, or a guy looking to pick up a game to play with your wife or girlfriend, McNamara thinks L.A. Noire may particularly appeal.

"So far it’s been very appealing to women too, which is great. I think women are pretty good at reading whether people are lying or not."

L.A. Noire launches today on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. If you’re a girl gamer looking to pick it up, let us know in the comments.
