The original Killzone is to be released on PSN in the US, SCEA has confirmed.
The PS2 game, which was infamously touted as a ‘Halo killer’ in the run-up to its launch, will release on PSN on January 24th and cost $9.99, according to Game Informer.
A European release has yet to be confirmed by SCEE.
Killzone is the first title in Guerrilla Games’ popular first-person shooter series, and follows a squad ISA soldiers battling against other-worldly enemy, the Helghast.
Since then, the series has spawned two direct sequels and a PSP spin-off. Most recently, Killzone 3 launched on PlayStation 3, with a Vita title also in the works at Cambridge Studio.
Guerrilla Games is currently rumoured to be working on another Killzone title and a new IP.
