IO Interactive’s Community Manager Nick Price has discussed what the future may hold for Hitman games post-Hitman Absolution, despite the game being a year off release.
According to a post on Hitman Forum, Price said that improvements made to the Glacier 2 engine meant that Hitman titles released after Absolution will see “dramatic improvements to the AI and the graphics,” but that it was “too early to say what ideas from Hitman Absolution will carry over into later Hitman games.
“I’m sure we’ll want to listen to the comments from the fans when Absolution ships,” he continued, “and we’ll monitor what gameplay features people are enjoying and respond from there…”
Price also said that he felt Absolution would be the best game in the series so far, saying that “the team is doing everything it can to make the absolutely best Hitman game ever, and I personally think they’re succeeding. It plays incredibly well already.”
Although first impressions from press have been positive, some gamers have criticised Absolution for its shift towards accessibility and the changes made to its gameplay over previous Hitman titles.
Hitman: Absolution was announced just prior to E3 last month. The game is due for release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC next year.
