Heavenly Sword 2, Getaway 3 were both in production, now cancelledThe CV and show reel of a Senior Artist at SCEE has revealed footage of an array of titles previously in production for PlayStation 3, including The Getaway 3 and Heavenly Sword 2.

According to the CV of ex-SCEE artist Martin Binfield, The Getaway 3, Heavenly Sword 2 and three other unannounced titles, including a sci-fi action game and a ‘lifestyle’ title were all once in the pipeline for PlayStation 3, but have all since been cancelled for unspecified reasons.

A next-gen version of The Getaway was first shown during Sony’s E3 press conference back in 2005, when the firm first announced its PlayStation 3 hardware.

A sequel to Heavenly Sword has also been heavily hinted at in the past, but was rumoured to have been cancelled back in 2007 after disappointing sales of the original.

The game’s development team, Ninja Theory, then went on to work on the equally-underperforming Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. It’s currently working on Capcom’s Devil May Cry reboot DmC.
