GTPlanet has discovered logos for 24 unrevealed tracks on the Gran Turismo 5 ‘My Home’ website which aren’t currently playable in the PS3 exclusive racer, strongly hinting that they will be added to the game via future DLC.
The discovery needed some reverse engineering (details linked on the right) and the icons are still able to be seen on Polyphony Digital’s servers (at time of writing).
The tracks mentioned are as follows:
1. Apricot Hill
2. Cathedral Rocks (Dirt)
3. Cathedral Rocks (Dirt Mini)
4. Cathedral Rocks (Dirt Short)
5. Citta di Aria
6. Costa di Amalfi
7. Driving Park
8. Driving Park (Kashiwa)
9. El Capitan
10. George V Paris
11. Grand Canyon
12. Hong Kong
13. Ice Arena
14. Infineon Raceway
15. Las Vegas
16. Midfield Raceway
17. New York
18. Twin Ring Motegi
19. Opera Paris (Tarmac)
20. Seattle Circuit
21. Seoul Circuit
22. Swiss Alps South
23. Tahiti Maze
24. Valencia Circuit
Seeing as most of these tracks have appeared in the GT franchise at one time or another but never in the same game, it would be safe to assume that Polyphony Digital are preparing them to be added to servers.
Sony has yet to officially comment on whether these developments are proof of future updates or simply redundant code, but we’d definitely have our money on the former.
Nice snooping GT Planet!
