Gran Turismo tops 60 Million

Sony’s top racing franchise Gran Turismo has topped 60 million units worldwide, the latest entry ‘Gran Turismo 5′ selling 5.5 million in under two weeks.

The series’ legacy spans the entire life of the PlayStation brand making an appearance on each major system including the PSP.

According to Sony, this milestone has taken just under 13 years to accumulate across five major entries in the series as well as the many Gran Turismo Concept and Prologue entries.

Currently the best-selling game in the series is Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec on PlayStation 2 with just under 15 million units sold worldwide.
