God of War III has been named 2010′s PlayStation 3 Game of the Year in P3Zine, fending off strong competition from the likes of Red Dead Redemption, Call of Duty: Black Ops and Heavy Rain.
God of War III picked up the coveted award for its "brilliant narrative, fantastic pacing, genre-leading combat and epic scale boss fights". The magazine went on to call it "an absolute beast-slaying blockbuster" and "one of the best games ever made".
The game also won the award for best action-adventure.

Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit and Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood were both named GotY runners-up, with Hot Pursuit winning the award for Best Racing Game and Best Online Game.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Fallout: New Vegas, FIFA 11, Red Dead Redemption, DJ Hero 2, Super Street Fighter IV and Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light also picked up awards for being the best in their respective genres.
