After numerous lengthy delays, Two Worlds II was finally due to go on sale in the UK this Friday. However, the country’s biggest video games retailer GAME won’t be stocking it.
The game disappeared from GAME’s website yesterday, and when questioned on Twitter as to why it had been removed, the retailer replied "no it’s not cancelled
– but unfortunately we won’t be stocking it."
It’s not yet known whether the game will still be available from GAME’s brick and mortar stores, but the firm’s response suggests not.
The 360, PS3 and PC versions have each been removed from sale. The game is still available to buy from other online retailers.
But in a further twist, GAME were also due to have the UK exclusive rights to Two Worlds II’s ‘Royal Edition’, a special edition of the game featuring a Dragon Queen statuette, exclusive in-game unlockables, a pack of playing cards and a bonus DVD.
However, that looks like it’s been pulled too.
Whether this has anything to do with yesterday’s allegations against publisher TopWare, in which Destructoid ran a story accusing the firm of "attempting to influence review scores", is not yet clear.
GamerZines has contacted GAME for comment.
