EA Los Angeles is developing an unannounced third-person shooter "with strong multiplayer focus", according to a job listing that’s appeared on EA’s website.
The job ad reveals little about the game, although it does suggest that it’ll utilise the new Frostbite 2 engine, the same engine powering DICE’s upcoming Battlefield 3.
Meanwhile a similar job ad for a Cinematics Engineer reveals that the game will also have an emphasis on "strong storytelling".
The game is rumoured to be the presumed-cancelled Mercs Inc, the third game in Pandemic Studio’s open-world Mercenaries series which was announced by EA a week after the firm announced the studio’s closure.
According to unconfirmed reports, the game’s development continued at EA LA under the eyes of surviving members of Pandemic.
EA LA most recently launched last year’s reboot of Medal of Honor, developed by sub-studio Danger Close. A sequel is currently in development.
