Diablo III will arrive on consoles, Blizzard’s community manager has revealed.
In a response to a question asking whether Blizzard could confirm or deny whether Diablo III would be heading to consoles, Micah Whipple stated the following:
“Yup. Josh Mosqueira is lead designer for the Diablo console project,” he wrote via Twitter.
As you can see from the concise response, no platform or release date was mentioned but it’s presumed that the console version of Diablo III would arrive at the same time as the PC version which is currently slated to arrive during the first half of 2012.
How exactly features like the real-money auction house would work in a controlled console environment remains to be seen, but it’s good that players are getting a choice on which platform they wish to quest on.
Blizzard will no doubt be confirming more news regarding Diablo’s appearance on consoles soon…
