The release date for the expansion pack is actually one day earlier than many expected. The Asian PlayStation Store published a 7th December date earlier this week, before pulling the listing from its website the following day.
An exact date for the Xbox 360 and PC release of the expansion pack is still to be confirmed, although we’d imagine it’ll hit Xbox Live Marketplace the following Wednesday, December 14th.
Back To Karkand features four new maps for Battlefield 3, as well as new vehicles, weapons and Trophies/Achievements. Each of the maps are remakes of classic Battlefield warzones, including Wake Island and Strike At Karkand.
The pack also introduces a new ‘Assignments’ system, a series of challenges that unlock Back To Karkand’s weapons for use on the original Battlefield 3 maps, and additional dog tags.
The expansion pack will cost £11.99 on PlayStation 3 and PC, and 1200 Microsoft Points on Xbox 360. It’s also available for free to anyone who purchased Battlefield 3′s Limited Edition.
